All men should know, now and for the future
That I Margaret Skudder of Horton Kirby in the County of Kent, widow, for various good and worthwhile reasons me especially moving,
Have given, granted, and by this present deed confirmed,
To Henry Skudder, my son, of Horton Kirby aforesaid, carpenter,
All those my lands, tenements and hereditaments whatsoever, with all and singular their appurtenances, which I have or hold, for the term of my life or otherwise, of the gift and grant of John Skudder, late husband of me the aforesaid Margaret, or in any other way, situate, lying and being in Horton Kirby aforesaid, and Sutton-at-Hone in the aforesaid County, and all my estate, title, claim, interest, possession and demand whatsoever of and in the aforesaid lands, tenements and hereditaments, with all and singular their appurtenances,
To have and to hold all the aforesaid lands, tenements, and hereditaments with all and singular their appurtenances, with all the estate, title, claim, interest, possession and demand of me the aforesaid Margaret of and in the same,
To the aforesaid Henry Skudder, his heirs and assigns, for the term of the life of me the aforesaid Margaret, to the proper use and behoof of the same Henry, his heirs and assigns.
In chief of the lords of the fees in those places by service thereof first due and in accordance with the law,
And I the true aforesaid Margaret and my heirs, will by these presents warrant and for ever defend all the aforesaid lands, tenements and hereditaments, with all and singular their appurtenances, for the aforesaid Henry, his heirs and assigns, in manner and form abovesaid, against me and my heirs.
In Witness whereof I, the aforesaid Margaret Skudder, have affixed my seal to this present deed.
Dated the 18th day of October in the 27th year of the reign of our Lady Elizabeth, by the grace of God, Queen of England, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc.

This is the Final Concord made 'm the Court of Our Lord the King at Westminster on the eighth day of St. Martin in the 28th year of the reign of Elizabeth,' by the grace of God, Queen of England, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc. after the conquest.
Before Edward Anderson, Francis Wyndam, William Peryam and Francis Rodes, Justices, and other loyal subjects of the Queen.
Between Henry Scudder, plaintiff, And Margaret Scudder, widow, and William Scudder deforceants, Concerning One messuage, one barn, one garden, one orchard, fifty acres of land, two acres of wood, and three acres of alder grove, with their appurtenances, in Horton Kirby and Sutton at Hone, Whereby agreement on a complaint was made between them in the same court as follows;
That the aforesaid Margaret and William acknowledged the aforesaid tenement with its appurtenances to be the privilege of the same Henry, as the same Henry has them of the gift of the aforesaid Margaret and William and their heirs to the said Henry and his heirs for ever.
And moreover the same Margaret and William have granted for themselves and the heirs of the same William that they will warrant the aforesaid tenement with its appurtenances for the aforesaid Henry and his heirs against the aforesaid Margaret and William and the heirs of the said William for ever.
And for this acknowledgement, release, quitclaim, warrant, fine and concord, the same Henry gave to the said Margaret and William one hundred and forty pounds sterling.

INDENTURE DATED 13TH DECEMBER, 1634
THIS INDENTURE made the thirteenth day of December in the Tenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord Charles by the grace of God King of England Scotland France and Ireland Defender of the Faith BETWENE John Walter of ffawkham in the County of Kent, Gent, and Robert Walter Citizen and Merchant Taylor of London on the one part and William Lane of Sutton at Hone in the said County of Kent, Gent, and Faith his wife on the other part WITNESSETH that the said John Walter and Robert Walter for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred Fourscore xxxxxx pounds of lawful English money to them the said John Walter and Robert Walter in hand and before them sealing and delivering hereof, well and truly contented and paid the recompense whereof the said John Walter and Robert Walter do hereby acknowledge and thereof and of any part and parcel thereof do acquaint exonerate and discharge the said William Lane and Faith his wife their heirs everunto and administrators and any of them by their presents have, granted bargained so enfeoffed and confirmed by their presents do fully and absolutely grant bargain sell enfeoffe and confirm the said William Lane and Faith his wife and the heirs and assigns of the said William All those ..yne pieces or parcels of arable land called or known by the name or names of Meadow:03 situate lying and adjoining together in the Parish of Horton Kirby in the County of Kent that is to say to the lands of the Lord of the Manor of Horton Kirby aforesaid south the Kings highway leading from Horton Mill to Deane Street and the lands of Henry Rolte, Gent, and Thomas Scudder north and to the old highway leading from Dartford to ffarningham west and the lands of Henry Scudder north east and now in the tennure and occupation of Thomas Peregrine and Joan Smale with their assignee or assigns All the said bargained ...........es lately descended unto the said John Walter and Robert Walter by force and per....e of the last will and testament of Robert Walter Gent deceased father of the said ............. etc.

_DEED OF MARTHA JACOB, 165_
Daughter of Henry Scudder, sells to Robert Weston and Wife Elizabeth, properties to pay debts of herself and of her late husband Thomas Jacob
To all people to whom this present being indented
Shall Martha Jacob of the district of New Sarum in the county of Wilts, widowed, late wife and sole executor of the last will and testement of Thomas Jacob, late of the said district, deceased, and the daughter of Henrie Scudder, Clerke, her late Father, deceased, sendith greetings in our Lord God, whereas the said Martha Jacob by her indenture bearing the same date with these presents for consideration of Four hundred and eighty pounds of lawful money of England which to her paid by Robert Weston of Horton Kirbie in the county of Kent, yeoman, hath granted bargained for and assigned surrender do release and quit claim approved delivered and confirmed unto Robert Weston of Horton Kirbie in the County of Kent and to Elizabeth his Wife and the survivor of them and their heirs and assigns all that one tenement and lands thereunto belonging within Horton Kirbie aforesaid in the county of Kent aforesaid in the tenure and posession of Nicholas Ray and all other messuages or arrable land with unto belonging called Prickly Meade being in Horton Kirbie aforesaid and Sutton-at-Hone in the said county of Kent one of them in the tenure of Robert Reade and all those other two other Messuages or tenaments with outhouses and gardens thereto being situated and being in Horton Kirbie aforesaid at or near to & called Chappell Greene now in the tenure of William Lamb all which said messuages and lands and tenements were heretofore the inheritance of Henrie Scudder, Clerk, being deceased father of the above named Martha Jacob and were devised by the last will of him the said Henry Scudder to her the said Martha and the heirs of her body which said Martha did afterwards marry the said Thomas Jacob deceased between them which by said Thomas Jacob left a will in writing did direct the same to be sold and have the said Martha Jacob full authority to sell the same forthwith to be employed in paying of his debts and for money to care for his young children for what is required to be mad of the said tenement.
Know ye that the said Martha Jacob for diverse good & confidence officially have appointed unto by the authority made Edmond Cooke of Dartford in the said county of Kent, Thomas Walter of Dartford aforesaid and that William Burkell of Horton Kirbie aforesaid my full attorney and for me and in my name to enter into and the above mentioned messuages lands & tenements and quiet posession thereof for and in my name and for thereof bid and for me and in my name to deliver thereof to the said Robert Weston and his assignees thereunto sufficiently empowered to hold to him the said Robert Weston & Elizabeth his wife and survivor of his heirs and for and meaning of above mentioned to be verified indenture and whatsoever my land to all lawful do in execution of the authority her to him the said Martha Jacob does transfer and confer.
In Witness whereof the said Martha Jacob has hereunto set her hand on the ninth day of in the year of our Lord God being the eleventh day of February of one thousand six hundred fifty and .........
Daughter of Henry Scudder, sells to Robert Weston and Wife Elizabeth, properties to pay debts of herself and of her late husband Thomas Jacob
